Terima kasih Catherine atas koreksinya :)
Catherine Muir Jul 27, 2011:
ejaannya 'kekhusyukan', bukan 'kekhusyuan' khusyuk Ar 1. dgn penuh minat atau sepenuh hati (ketika mendengar atau berbuat sesuatu), dgn sungguh-sungguh (ketika berbuat ibadat dll), dgn menumpukan perhatian dan minat yg sepenuhnya (kpd sesuatu): ahli jemaah sedang duduk dgn ~ mendengar bang; mereka sedang ~ bersembahyang; 2. (dgn) kerendahan hati (diri): manusia akan menghadap Tuhan dgn penuh hormat, ~ dan tawaduk; 3. Jk niat, tujuan, kasad;
mengkhusyukkan menjadikan seseorang khusyuk: suasana malam yg sunyi itu sangat ~;
kekhusyukan perihal atau keadaan khusyuk (ketika bersembahyang, berdoa, dsb).
Karen Tjia (X) Jul 26, 2011:
Terima kasih atas penjelasannya.
Karen Tjia (X) Jul 26, 2011:
Kekhusuan - maksudnya kekhususan? Dalam konteks tsb, saya sarankan ***the ambience specific to the reading of the works of XXX***. Keriuhan menjelaskan tentang suasana, maka saya pikir kata kekhususan mempunyai fungsi yang sama dan saya memakai kata ambience. Alternatif: mood atau atmosphere.

devoutness in reading the XXX manuscript

As explained in my discussion entry, the word is 'kekhusyukan', not 'kekhusyuan'. It is an abstract noun meaning 'devoutness'.

--------------------------------------------------

It is not devoutness to turn your faces to the east or to the west.
Rather, those with true devoutness are those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, the Angels, the Book and the Prophets,
and who, despite their love for it, give away their wealth to their relatives and to orphans and the very poor, and to travellers and beggars and to set slaves free,
and who establish regular prayers and pay regular charity;
those who honour their contracts when they make them,
and are steadfast in poverty and illness and in battle.
Those are the people who are true.
