In this context (which wasn't revealed in question), "vlastni" is not implicit, because it is distinguishing these companies from those merely distributing or packaging SW, so I like proprietary, but Mr. Blann's second part is right for me to be able to distinguish "off-the-shelf" SW from that which is for instance sold via download.
