English term
division
English to Finnish
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)
corporate structure
Is there a general way to translate "division" in Finnish when talking about a part of a company / corporate group?
Paulig talks about "Coffee division" which in their Finnish version seems to be "toimiala":
http://www.pauliggroup.com/coffee/
http://www.pauliggroup.com/fi/index.php/about-us/organisatio...
Also "osasto" seems to pop up on other sites when searching. That one however might cause some problems in my case as the text I'm working on sometimes talks about "departments" too.
How about "sektori"?
Advice and opinions will be greatly appreciated!

yksikkö
"Pauligin kahviyksikkö", sometimes "jaosto" fits as well.
Example sentence:
"Pauligin kahviyksikkö"
Note from asker:
Thanks! It's just that the text also talks about "business units"... But good to know if "jaosto" is used too; I've been thinking about that too but sometimes it sounds a bit strange to my ears. |

(tietystä liiketoiminnasta vastaava) konsernin yhtiö
Pauligin kahviliiketoiminnasta vastaava yhtiö tms.
Lähteestä: ”...Paulig-konserni, jossa Oy Gustav Paulig Ab vastaa kahviliiketoiminnasta”

Note from asker:
Thanks, but this is a sort of general text which talks about all the divisions; i.e. a sentence could be something like "the divisions and business units are expected to..." |

osasto
Toimiala means a field of industry. Ie. for Paulig they have coffee and for example the "snack food". Osasto on the other hand means departments within these(or in the larger group) like HR, research, customer support etc. On the other hand if you say sekotri it means for example "agricultural sector.
I hope this is of some help.

Note from asker:
Thanks but as I said, the text contains also "department", which I at least usually translate "osasto" |
