Under a dissecting scope, the hind limb skin was removed to expose the TA muscle and patella. A double square was tied around the patella tendon with a 4-0 suture. The TA distal tendon was then dissected out and a double square knot was tied around the tendon with 4-0 suture as close to the muscle as possible and then the tendon was cut.
