I am proofreading a test report on microorganisms in air conditioning units. Am not sure about this sentence:
"Die Verdampfer wurden numerisch beschriftet, wobei der mit x gekennzeichnete Verdampfer als ***Geometriemuster*** für vorbereitende Maßnahmen an der Prüfapparatur diente und die Verdampfer y bis z in die Prüfung gingen."
The colleague translated literally as "geometric sample", but wasn't sure if that is correct. I can't find any relevant hits, but I wonder if this would be the control sample? Can anyone help?
