Swedish term

hög tillgänglighet

Swedish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) mergers & acquisitions
I don't know if there is any specific phrase for this or if it just means high availability. It's a website for an m&a advisor - "Företagstransaktioner med hög tillgänglighet"

Discussion

Frankie Hearsum (asker) Feb 15, 2021:
Yes I think they are describing themselves as advisors, I guess saying that they are available at all times
Christopher Schröder Feb 14, 2021:
Are you sure the hög tillgänglighet refers to the Företagstransaktioner, not the adviser itself?

high availability

It’s not quite the same context, but:

Hög tillgänglighet (High availability, HA) betyder olika saker för olika personer. Här definierar vi HA som den procentuella tidsandel som ett datorsystem kan utföra sin uppgift. Ett bra värde på HA för ett datorsystem som används för affärskritiska uppgifter, t ex att hantera en telefonväxel eller ett företagsnätverk, är 99,999 procent av tiden (“5NINES”). Det betyder att den tid som tjänsten inte är tillgänglig är mindre än 6 minuter per år.

neutral Christopher Schröder : This is what it says, but I think they mean their staff are always available.

high accessibilty

It is hard in this case to say absolutely whether accessibility or availability is best here but for IT systems, this is the term normally used and I think it is probably the better choice here

a high level of transparency

Whatever tillgänglighet means, what I thoguht was a routine translation technique for Swedish - and other allied languages - is to prefix with a high level or degree of.

The phrase is definitely referringback to the corporate transactions, as per the first website that clocks up on the Internet.
Example sentence:

t is known that high levels of corporate transparency improve investment efficiency and resource allocation.

Peer comment(s):

disagree Christopher Schröder : It clearly does NOT refer to the transactions. And the word doesn’t mean transparency.
