No kidding! Here http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761564247/Mallow.html it notes that the mallow family (Malvaceae) has 80 genera, including Malva, Alcea (hollyhocks), Hibiscus, not to mention cotton and okra.

Malvaceae - the mallow family. It includes:
genus Malva - many Old World mallows
genus alcea - hollyhocks
