What can I offer?

My main specialization is Audiovisual Translation: I can provide the spotting and subtitling for your media files in accordance to your preferred guidelines. I will translate German and English content into Dutch, or transcribe your Dutch content into Dutch/Flemish.

I am also available for regular translation services as well as revision and post-editing jobs.

My education:

Born and raised in Belgium, I am a native speaker of the Dutch language and its Belgian variant, Flemish. As I had a passion for the English and German language from a young age, I opted for linguistic studies. I completed my Master in Translation for these languages at the University of Antwerp, one semester of which I spent studying at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Germersheim in order to strengthen my German.

After 2 years of maintaining and practising my languages in a customer service environment, I went to KULeuven university to complete my Postgraduate in Specialised translation, which I passed Summa Cum Laude with congratulations from the exam committee. During these studies, I learned the basics of translation technology, terminology research, website localization, software localization and audiovisual translation.

For my internship, I was allowed to work for six months as a subtitler at Iyuno-SDI, one of the biggest localization companies in the world. Here I subtitled media content for high-profile clients, while being revised and tutored by translators with many years of experience in the field.
