Experience
Years of experience: 6. Registered at ProZ.com: Nov 2022.
Born in Sri Lanka, a multi-lingual and multi-cultural country, I grew up speaking English and Sinhalese natively. I also have a working knowledge in Tamil, our second official language. For my secondary and tertiary studies, I studied French as a foreign language and graduated with honours in French. I also studied Spanish and am currently in the process of improving my Spanish.
During my undergraduate days, I discovered my passion for translation as I started free-lancing. This led to me following a career in translation as I got the opportunity of becoming a translator (Sinhala/English) for the government of Sri Lanka. There, I have the opportunity of being a part of various projects of national importance of political, legal and administrative nature.
I further pursued my higher studies in Translation by following a Msc. Translation from University of Glasgow, Scotland.
At the moment, I am looking to expand my network and client base for free-lancing opportunities in French/English/Sinhala.
