I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Translation and Interpreting and a Master's Degree in Audiovisual Translation (localization, s...ubtitling, cinema and TV translation, etc). I am also a certified Sworn Translator for English appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
I consider myself an outstanding individual, I do have high energy, enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and a love for teamwork. My passion for languages led me to choose this challenging profession which I enjoy very much. I started translating during my university studies through several internships and early assignments as you can see in my cv.
For the last months, I have been working for Disney in Spain proofreading and revising scripts and translations. After the dubbing I then start the quality control, supervision of the process and dialogue control. I have also been responsible of the script management, contact to translators, insert proofreading and the production of different series like House, The Simpsons, American Dad… For these last month’s I have specially learned a lot when supervising and proofreading because I had to be in constant alert finding errors, and therefore, have a perfect native both English and Spanish level. This internship has made me a very precise, responsible and perfectionist translator. As you will know, Disney is a very careful company, specially with little details of the translation process and revision of the scripts in order to present a perfect dubbing, and so, a perfect film.
As you will also see in my CV, I have made interesting internships in important national companies in Spain. For a few months I was subtitling different TV series and movies, and I translated videogames and then tested them in order to find bugs.
Although for the last months I have been more concentrated in audiovisual translation I also like other areas such as arts, tourism, gastronomy, travelling, medical, legal, technical, marketing, fashion, biology…. During my year in Germany I translated specialized texts for Volkswagen, Opel… and other car engineering companies so I consider myself capable of translating specialized texts for areas like technology, computing, finances… Nowadays, I have different clients all over de world, from England, USA, Canary Islands, China...
My interest for languages is obviously linked to a great passion for travelling. I have lived and spent long periods of time in England and Germany. I have learned to know, enjoy and share their customs and cultures. This cultural insight is very important in the translation process, where one must translate not just words but concepts, ideas and cultural references.
