Bio:REBECCA COCKBURN, M.Sc. is a translator and proofreader, cross-cultural trainer and international relations consultant based in Trinidad & Tobago. Ms. Cockburn previously held the position of foreign language specialist in a Trinidad & Tobago Government initiative entit...led Spanish As the First Foreign Language. In that role, Rebecca collaborated with Ambassadors of Spanish-speaking countries with missions in Trinidad and Tobago; and executed seminars, workshops and conferences in English and Spanish. She was also responsible for translation and simultaneous interpretation, writing articles for publication, writing bilingual speeches and proposals and strategic planning and budgeting.
Rebecca earned her M.Sc. degree in International Relations and her B.A. degree in Spanish with Economics from the University of the West Indies and holds certificates in translation from City University, London. In addition to being fluent in Spanish, she has a working knowledge of French and basic knowledge of German, Italian and Portuguese. Rebecca has also earned certificates in Anti-Money Laundering, Project Management and International Protocol, Diplomacy and Etiquette.
As part of her international experience, Rebecca has studied, lived and worked abroad and participated in exchange programmes and cultural visits to various countries. These include England, the USA, numerous European, Latin American and Caribbean countries and she has also represented the Government of Trinidad and Tobago on official duty in Spain and South Korea.
