French term
résultat contrôlé
French to English
Medical
Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-)
biologie sanguine du patient
Biochimie générale: Créatinine: 1.74mg/dL (v.n. 0.8 - 1.5). Créatinine: résultat contrôlé.
Among all the different results(urea, total bilirubin etc) only creatinine has the result values then "résultat contrôlé". I therefore doubt it simply means " results monitored". Any ideas?
Thanks for your help

Serum creatinine is usually reported along with serum BUN (azote). They usually rise or fall in concert since they are both measuring renal function. The elevation of creatinine reported is relatively minor and would not normally provoke a recheck. It may be that the BUN was normal, causing the lab to question the abnormal creatinine.

"Result checked" is also perfectly correct. I add this simply for clarification.

Alternatively, there may have been a grossly elevated BUN with only a modest elevation of creatinine. This can occur with high protein diets. The lab would want to check that the creatinine was not indeed higher.

"Urea" is synonymous with BUN (blood urea nitrogen).
