German term
Bildseite
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Computers: Software
"Öffnet die Bildseite Suchen, in der Sie alle Fahrzeugkataloge nach Ersatzteil-, Service- oder Arbeitselementen durchsuchen können."
"Öffnet die Bildseite Shop, in der die aktive Einkaufsliste angezeigt wird."
These two sentences are from a table of shortcuts for a program which is designed for car dealerships to call up spare parts etc. I'm pretty sure that "Bildseite" just refers to a page with photos or illustrations, but I can't think of a neat word to cover it. (I'm thinking of asking the customer if I can just translate it as "page".)
Can anyone suggest anything for this?
Thanks
Ian

screen/visual access
Bildseite refers simply to screens. There won't be an image of a worker holding a hammer in the Bildseite Suchen -> Arbeitselemente. The type of Bildseite (including explosion diagrams of assemblies) is referred to as "visual access".

: 'visual access' is acutally a fairly exact definition of this, now that I think about some of the jobs I've done, BUT, it's also a bit tech-geeky in nature and will only appear in a hard-core manual (which this might well be).

Actually, I've borrowed this term (visual access) from an electronic catalog of a major American car maker

: "visual access" is new to me, but "screen" should be fine

... or "catalog page" is what I'd use (with the client's blessing, of course). I don't think there's any other natural-sounding option.

screen/window
Ian, sometimes in IT-speek, "[Bild]seite" means screen as when an screen opens (sometimes even 'window'). These may be little pop-up windows/screens that appear on the monitor when you push a key. In your example, "the Search screen opens..." or "Search window opens"

: as this is software, I'd go for screen or window
