Are these people Irish? To ride is well-known Irish slang for to have sex with somebody. CF Roddy Doyle for many instances ... :o)

obviously, you will know the right term for your target. Just bear in mind that it is very informal and a little risqué vulgar (this would not be the term used in front of parents/teachers, etc.)

: I can't say I'm familiar with the Irish slang, but the context seems to support your idea. The girl saying "I know" before "dropping the bomb" that leads to a change of subject. It all seems to fit.
