Whole sentence / context It struck me after posting the note and reading Blangsted's suggestion that the expression is the Danish version of Nelson's ignoring Hyde Parker's signal by 'turning a blind eye' at 'Slaget p� Reden'. I dimly remembered Christian IV's having something to do with it... thanks so much to both of you,
