Non-PRO French to English Other Linguistics grammar
En pratique, cet ascenseur dessert deux ou trois etages. Could en pratique here mean currently? As the next sentence talks about a future version that can go up several more floors?

I know of some cases in Paris where the residents of buildings did not want to pay for the elevator and so the elevator did not serve their floors! I know it sounds strange - but true.

There's nothing before this about the number floors which is why this sentence is a bit awkward.
