1.2 PVD process of Aluminum
Aluminum is deposited by means of a PVD process. For Aluminum this means that it is heated to a certain temperature of up to 1600 ºC so that it evaporates into the vacuum (pressure below 1E-5 mbar). Aluminum wire is simply pressed against a hot ceramic surface of up to 1600 ºC, so that the wire immediately melts and evaporates from the surface. The surface is orientated towards the substrate but tilted under an angle of 20º.
Danke!

Perhaps, if you want to keep 'process', you want to add Verfahren or Prozess.

"1.2 PVD process of Aluminum
Aluminum is deposited by means of a PVD process. "
"1.2 PVD process of Aluminum

würde ich wie folgt übersetzen:
"1.2 (Verfahren der) Aluminumabscheidung in der Gasphase (PVD)

: You meant this as a peer comment, of course? 'Verfahren' was already mentioned. And it's *aus* der Gasphase, BTW.

Sorry, but PVD process is two times mentioned. Each occurence needs a different expression. So I helped with the formulations. Unfortunately, this was not proposed by you. Therefore I gave an answer instead of comments.
