Discussion

Tsogt Gombosuren (asker) Aug 20, 2007:
Dear All, Thank you for your time and inputs. I found the explanation of the term in the website of the client. It was "Commissionable Volume" as I predicted. Anyway, I appreciate your kindness and support.
Best wishes to all,
Tsogt
Ghyslaine LE NAGARD Aug 15, 2007:
It does not make any difference, and why would someone put an English term when a French one exists? Besides I don't think any French native would understand and read this to be "ccmmissionable volume" .
Tsogt Gombosuren (asker) Aug 15, 2007:
I think that the term may be in English, i.e. "commissionable volume", because the overall text is related to a networking business.
Ghyslaine LE NAGARD Aug 15, 2007:
ça ferait "VC" et non pas "CV"! par ailleurs les entreprises de produits cosmétiques décident seules des volumes de conditionnemùent de leurs produits.
Tsogt Gombosuren (asker) Aug 15, 2007:
Could it be "volume commissionable"?
Tsogt Gombosuren (asker) Aug 15, 2007:
A line of cosmetic products.

What products are we talking about here?

Thank you for your help. Your version was quite tempting. Thanks again. Tsogt
Peer comment(s):

agree Julie Barber : seems like a good suggestion. Although just to comment, I frequently see English terms used in French business docs, even where the French equiv. exists!

And I agree with you when the documents are for professionals who do understand them, but here it is meant for the public if I understood well.

product fact sheet

I really think that the term "CV" means just what it is but applied to products.
I do not believe it's only about the "conditions de vente" of the product, but rather all the details pertaining to the related product.
Other suggestions: product profile (like Francis suggested), product information sheet, product summary sheet....
