Spanish to English Science Geology
a list of sorts of landscapes:

Posee distintos tipos de desiertos, campos de nieve, praderas salvajes y amplios sembrados de trigo, soja, maiz, llanuras, altas cumbres nevadas, selvas, junglas, solares, puna, playas, dunas...

I have never seen this use of solar/solares before!

Hi again Wendy. If Enrique's suggestion is on the right track (I'm in Spain and we don't have that usage here), the this may be "clearings" in English.

Another take on solanar from Wikipedia: Se denomina solana a las laderas o vertientes de una cordillera o zona montañosa en general que reciben mayor cantidad de radiación solar, en comparación con las vertientes o laderas de umbría. :O)

seem to fit in the sequence - the agricultural lands are named much earlier and this "solar" is listed between cumbres, selvas, junglas, puna, playa, dunas...see what I mean? :O)

Suelo de la era2.
And the second definition of era is:
Cuadro pequeño de tierra destinado al cultivo de flores u hortalizas.

I've never come across this before, but it's a possibility here, especially as they make reference to agricultural crops before the solares.
