Martin Janda Mar 6, 2008:
Propána, Pavle, nedělej s tím takový štráchy. Pokud Jirka o 4 body fakt stojí, vytvoř mu novou otázku a dohodni se s ním kdy, aby bleskově odpověděl.
Pavel Blann Mar 6, 2008:
well, the moderator used to be mrs. katerina beckova so she may know who to contact with this matter. her profile is www.proz.com/profile/5542
William Kratzer Jr. (asker) Mar 6, 2008:
Moderator No moderator has been assigned to this. If you wish to contact someone and have this done, I agree. Thanks, William
Pavel Blann Mar 6, 2008:
please ask the moderator to remove my points & the glossary entry, and select mr. klima's answer. it is advisable to wait approx. 24 hours before awarding any points. thanks.
William Kratzer Jr. (asker) Mar 6, 2008:
TIPOVANÍ Thanks martin, I will post the info when I have found a suitable english equivalent.
Martin Janda Mar 6, 2008:
There is yet another possibility. If the button is indeed labelled TIPOVANI, you have better to leave the Czech name as is. And, if the device labels are to be converted to English, you would need to find out what the exact English label will be.
Pavel Blann Mar 6, 2008:
not at all. it's very likely the Czech term TIPOVÁNÍ was derived from TIPPING in not too distant past anyway.
William Kratzer Jr. (asker) Mar 6, 2008:
thanks That sounds reasonable. Since I can find not suitable English equivalent, I will used tipping button. thanks gain!
Pavel Blann Mar 6, 2008:
don't worry about the points. tipping is perhaps connected to a stepping motor or going tip-to-tip from one tooth to another in a gear(box/wheel), etc.
William Kratzer Jr. (asker) Mar 6, 2008:
context Ok, I will mull this over for a while, do a little research and will make a selection and award the points soon THANKS
Pavel Blann Mar 6, 2008:
OK, the key phrase is "The speed of the belt movement is limited". Thus the TIPOVÁNÍ probably means "very slow/small step movement while pressing the button"
William Kratzer Jr. (asker) Mar 6, 2008:
CONTEXT If the mechanism is not in the protected position, the equipment cannot be started. If the mechanism is not in the protected position, you can only control movement of the belt by pressing the button TIPOVANÍ. The speed of the belt movement is limited
Pavel Blann Mar 6, 2008:
well, it realy depends on your context. it may mean "dumping", "tilting", etc. what is your context???
William Kratzer Jr. (asker) Mar 6, 2008:
TIPPING BUTTON Can you explain to me in Czech what the function of a TIPPING BUTTON generally is? Thanks in advance
Pavel Blann Mar 6, 2008:
Pls. provide more sentences before and after this one.

Please explain how your answer fits in context and its meaning
This is about protection circuitry. After the button press the speed of the belt movement is limited.

Jogging

Sorry, but tipping is wrong.
In this case, this concerns motions with very slow (creeping) speed that is necessary either for safety reasons or to position the machine manually to a precise position
Note from asker:
Your answer was right on the money! I found a reference relating to "jogging switch" for incremental rotation. So the answer in this case would be "jogging button" I will post the question in a different way and award you the points when you answer it.
