Courtyard Housing
is how we in the US refer to that type of housing. However, typically these are condo's or apartments and it can be with any number of units.

Please note that a ‘courtyard house’ is a different concept.

From what I can see, the Quadruple house seems to be primarily a British concept. I have not heard the term before and the only US reference I could find was this one:

Comment: "Thanks for helping me out on this one, the courtyard housing actually sounds like "hofje" in Dutch, so I'm not adding it to the glossary. But thanks nonetheless"

Clever Dutch term! I offer those terms in good faith.

No, not a quadruple house. it does not fit in at all.
I would just keep the word quadrant as the term is self descriptive.

Is that a common term in US and UK?
I'm actually referring to a small block of 4 houses with a garden in the middle (either common inner court yard, of devided up in 4 as well..)
thanks!
