English term
...in the intestinal lumen again
English to French
Medical
Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-)

This is from an abstract of a scientific paper about the gastro-intestinal action of sennosides.
Here is the sentence:
"The absorption in apical to basolateral direction was poor and P(c) values were comparable to xxx. The transport was higher in the secretory direction, indicating a significant efflux (e.g., by efflux pumps) of the (poorly) absorbed compounds in the intestinal lumen again."
What baffles me is the "again". I'm guessing it's about reabsorption, but then do I understand "poor reabsorption" or "reabsorption of compounds that were initially poorly absorbed"? Or ...?
Thanks for your help!

[omit from translation]
After reading the abstract, I would say that 'again' is sloppy English and can be omitted in the translation.
I understand 'again' to mean 'becomes present in the lumen again'.
I understand 'again' to mean 'becomes present in the lumen again'.

: D'accord - Il est probable que 'again' est venu avec un 'cut 'n paste' de l'article complet et que l'on a 'oublié' de supprimer dans l'abstracte.

I assume there has already been some explanation of one way that such a condition can arise, and here we have another.

Sorry, wrong assumption: there is no such indication in the text. |

: Such indication that similar effect is repeated ***again*** exist in the text: "P(c) values were ***comparable*** to xxx"; So the effect of the studied substance is the same as for substance xxx.

Discussion
again comme adverbe ( de indicating ), peut avoir le sens de : en même temps / d'un autre côté / en retour.
I fail to see how any of your answers could apply. So either I'm blind to something (and please open my eyes) or the text will show you this "again" cannot mean the "yet again" (as expressed by mediamatrix) that you all seem to understand. Also, What I'm looking for is not a translation of "again" (of course!) but an explanation of what the again relates to, in your opinion. So here is that reference: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17481875. Thanks again for your help!
