English term

Neuropathy Symptoms and Change (NSC) score

English to French Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals medical "scores" for pain, symptoms, etc.
This is a score that measures the state of patients (here, diabetic patients) presenting neuropathic symptoms that are likely to change over time with the use of specific products (pharmaceuticals or natural products).

I have failed to find a direct equivalent in French and I suspect the name could be entirely different, especially if the score was first established by French researchers and NSC is the terminology used by Americans.

Discussion

Lionel_M (X) Feb 10, 2009:
Very kind from you MA. Thank you for this clarification.
Marie-Andree Dionne (asker) Feb 10, 2009:
The actual answer Proz.com is nudging me to close this and I will. No points will be awarded because the answer isn't anything near what anyone proposed (nor anything I would've guessed to start with). The phrase in itself was misleading. Here is why: NSC score means: Number, Severity and Change (NSC) score. Unfortunately, the author used Neuropathy Symptoms and Change (NSC) Score and everyone (myself included) was mislead into thinking that NSC stood for Neuropathy, Symptoms and Change. My clue to the solution was that I was finding NSC scores in fields other than neurology. Here is the link to the original article (which I didn't have when I asked the question) where you can verify this (look for Table 3): http://care.diabetesjournals.org/cgi/reprint/26/3/770.pdf. This being said, I want to thank everyone for trying!

my humble opinion is that the score was probably first created in the english scientific community... in that case, we would have to come up with the best literal transcription in french
