I wouldn't be so fast... to absolutely eliminate screw as opposed to worm. First of all, the context here is clearly not lathes, as indicated by the explanation. It is power generation, specifically how to feed coal to a boiler. And in my three years of interpreting audits of Zlin's entire power-gen operation for an English management team from Atel Energy, these Brits have only called it a screw conveyor or screw feeder. Worm feeder does exist in the tech. world out there, but screw conveyor is more widely applied (especially here): , garnering twice as many Google hits for instance.
