trafikksluse
Selected
bus gate
This area, between Kjelsås and Lofthus in Oslo, was subject to heavy through traffic seeking relief from the endless queues around the Sinsen crossing on Oslo's Ring 3. Throughfares have been sealed to prevent car traffic, while gates open by radio signal to let buses through.
Here, the writers have managed to follow a bus through the gate - a risky endeavour, as bus drivers enjoy stopping the bus just inside the gate, having the gate descend on the following car. This didn't happen here, allowing the writer to smugly observe the gate closing behind them to stop the pursuing Jeep.

Norwegian term (edited):
trafikksluse
bus trap
Jeg tror de mener "bussluse" (buss-sluse) når de bruker ordet trafikksluse. Det er en anordning som gjør det vanskelig for personbiler å passere mens bussen kan kjøre.
