adaptation and film editing
I think Edicion here means adaptation, i.e. editing of the script as where montaje means film editing.

: Adaptation isn't the same as script editing, though.

cutting and editing
Yes Giovanni, it seems 'editing' means both edición and montaje. I have a filmography glossary in which 'editing' is the translation for both 'montaje' and 'edición' -more than once, mind you.
But 'cutting and editing' came to my mind, so I googled it and got 16,200 hits. You might wish to check it out.
Good luck!

Hola Lydia, Gracias por tu respuesta. No estoy seguro si se utilice "assembling" en la industria cinematográfica. Are you sure? |

Maria Kisic
: En mi diccionario, montaje es assembling para vídeo o película, antes de la edición o montaje final.
