I came across "maksuposti" with two separate clients and both confirmed that what they meant to convey was scheduled payments to be made as work progresses, i.e. 20% at time of order, 30% when materials are procured, etc. Hope that helps.

The term is new to me. I could imagine it being of English origin (payment post), but I couldn't find any firm confirmation for that supposition.
There's quite a lot of evidence in the Net that 'maksuposti' is quite near the same as 'payment installment', but it seems to refer to a determined stage of e.g a constructing project. The payment is carried out, after it is checked that all the determined works of the stage are properly performed.

'maksuposti' appears many times. In English version of the abstract it is translated just 'payment'. Apparently the author has also had difficulties in expressing 'maksuposti' in English.
