Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): writeaway

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

I always that that "préparé" meant "studied for", which I have seen in natural English.

qualification studied

It just means what type of qualification (in this case a 2nd level DEUG) is being studied.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Chris Hall : I think that there are much better alternatives than the translation which has been put forward here i.e. "qualification" for "diplôme" and "studied" for "préparé".

Diploma preparation

C'est le nom du diplôme préparé suivi du cursus académique à remplir avant d'en être titulaire.
Peer comment(s):

disagree JaneD : This is the correct definition of what it is, but not the correct translation into English.

disagree Chris Hall : There needs to be a verb in the past participle here e.g. diploma obtained / issued. Addition: I agree that the French has not been translated as it should have been, othwerwise the past participle would have been taken into consideration.

Diploma

As a heading on a transcript,"Diploma: DEUG" should be sufficient in English. The implication is that the person has earned the 2-year DEUG diploma. English tends to be more concise than French.

NOTE: not sure about the "second-level" part of the heading. That might have to be specified as well...But my answer to your question remains the same.

degree undertaken/in which enrolled

Diploma can also be used in place of degree in the two expressions.

A transcript/relevé de notes shows a student's results at a given time in his/her studies; the term itself in no way implies that the student has recieved a diploma. The same applies to diplôme préparé. Success or failure is not implied, it simply refers to the specific course in which the student is enrolled.
