Example sentence:

Gäller ej Finland, Norge och Danmark. Försäkringsbelopp: Nödvändiga och skäliga kostnader, självrisk SEK 1 000/skadetillfälle.

Not valid for Finland, Norway and Denmark. Sum insured duly, necessary costs, deductible/excess SEK 1,000/each and every claim.

Peer comment(s):

disagree Sven Petersson : A "claim" may be done as a result of a "skada" that occured at a "skadetillfälle", but the *skadetillfälle" remains a "skadetillfälle" even when no claim is made!

True, but we already have 'skador' in the sentence. Also, we're not translating the word in a vacuum, but in the context of this sentence. :-)
disagree Charlesp : I agree (with Sven)

agree e2efour : If you don't MAKE a claim after a loss, you might avoid translating skadetillfälle by claim (e.g. occasion of loss). But see the parallel translations http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:... (??=SV or EN).
