: A "claim" may be done as a result of a "skada" that occured at a "skadetillfälle", but the *skadetillfälle" remains a "skadetillfälle" even when no claim is made!

True, but we already have 'skador' in the sentence. Also, we're not translating the word in a vacuum, but in the context of this sentence. :-)

: If you don't MAKE a claim after a loss, you might avoid translating skadetillfälle by claim (e.g. occasion of loss). But see the parallel translations http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:... (??=SV or EN).
