As she is very old, does Elder have the meaning of "age' or as she is inside a plant the meaning of "Saúco" = Elder? and how would "lady" be translated?
The phrase is in thie following context:
“Lady Elder! are you within?”
And the tree shoots out its green buds and the tender leaves unfold themselves.

Doña Mayor
Hi,
I think I would translate Lady by Doña, and better not 'Señora', see hereunder
'Una persona mayor' is 'elder' referring to her age, but there's still this confusion with bigger, etc., so I don't like it that much but I can't find anything else.

Comment: "Thank you. I am still undecided which one to use because of the double meaning of 'age' and 'plant'"

Surely he is addressing the tree, which reacts accordingly?

Hada Madre
