opening theme

In the 1990s, American network television began reducing the importance of opening and closing themes in a drive to decrease intervals between programs (thereby discouraging channel switching) and to address reduced storytelling time due to increased commercials.

opening music

I like your own suggestion.
"Film opening music" has plenty of Ghits.
"di testa" implies at the start, as opposed to throughout or at the end (remember the Radiohead song "Exit music (for a film)"?).
And IMHO "theme tunes" apply to TV shows, not films.

opening track

The music for a film is the soundtrack, thus the opening tune would be the opening track - though opening theme is fine too.
