evidence

Evidence includes everything that is used to determine the truth of an assertion. Giving evidence is the process of using those things that are either (1) presumed to be true, like the testimony, or (2) were themselves proven via evidence, like exhibits, to establish the facts in a hearing via which the burden of proof could be achieved. Evidence is the way the trier of facts, a judge or a jury, achieves a verdict beyond a reasonable doubt.

Example sentence:

The court ruling came after the examining of all the presented evidence and determining the intent of the defendant when committing the crime. .
