Good day,
I am searching for a natural translation for "корпус" that would not involve neither "house", nor "building.".
Thank you.
Context:
Был покрыт железной крышей и неоконченный Баженовым Кухонный ***корпус*** [в Царицыно].

"kitchen block" is a very common term.

Note from asker:
Thanks. If the Oxford Companion calls it "the Kitchen building", then I will most probably use "building". However, I don't like that, because in this case I use the same word, "building", for a more general concept ("5 buildings were under construction" - "Строились 5 зданий") and a more concrete one ("the Kitchen building" - "Кухонный корпус"). I like the distinction between "здание" and "корпус" made in the original text, and my intention was to preserve this distinction. |
Sorry, the above comment must have appeared at Rachel's answer. |

: This is fine, but so is "building." Why don't you (the asker) like building? The Oxford Companion to the Garden calls this unit of Bazhenov's ensemble at Tsaritsyno "the Kitchen building."

I agree with "pavilion," "block," "building," but here's another option, used by William Craft Brumfield in "Landmarks of Russian architecture: a photographic survey":
"the kitchen and service wing"

Pictures for Mark. They build the case for building, block, wing, while making me less enthusiastic about "pavilion."

: this would be fine, provided it's attached to the main building

At Tsaritsyno, most of the structures look more or less attached to each other. I figure this author of an architecture book, and one with photos to boot, checked that one out, in particular.
