sand bath sand bath - illustrated on the page you cite
also at http://www.wisenten.nl/wisenten-uk/research
also explained on Wikipedia: "Dust bath (also, sand bath) is the act of an animal grooming and cleansing its skin or fur from parasites by rolling or moving around within dust or sand."
But "sand bath" describes an activity, not a place, so you will have to use something like "sites where bison take sand (or dust) baths".

wallows, sandy wallows

Wallowing is when bison roll on the prairie to give themselves "dust baths." Wallowing creates a saucer-like depression called a wallow out on the prairie. Wallows were once a common features of the plains; usually these wallows are dust bowls without any vegetation. - http://www.nps.gov/wica/naturescience/bison-wallow.htm

--------------------

Bulls and cows at all ages will wallow in dry areas where they can stir clouds of dust. Sometimes they will wallow in wet areas as well. Dust, which permeates the coat, probably minimizes the effects of insects. The wallowing seems to be important in grooming, sensory stimulation, alleviating skin irritation, and reproductive behavior. - http://www.okprairie.com/Bison.htm

dziękuję Geopiet, ale ten termin zarezerwowałam sobie na 'tarzawisko', choć IMO praktycznie na jedno wychodzi
Peer comment(s):

agree Polam : Yes - "wallow" (plural: wallows) is the word, only I would call it "sand wallow" as opposed to a sandy wallow. I was unable to find the word "kuprysko" in Polish dictionaries. Perhaps it is a local (białowieski) term? Or one related only to bison/wisent?
