English term
Play Free Trial Demo
I know that Free trial Demo is "bezpłatna wersja próbna" but I'm stuck with the play part, would you say "spróbować bezpłatna wersja próbna"?
Thanks for your help,
Ruth

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

If the person is encouraged to play, then "zagraj" will be appropriate if there's no mention of "downloading" the demo. "Download and play" will be "Pobierz i zagraj"
There is a description of the game and later "Play Free Trial Demo" so I guess that the player can select this option and play a trial demo of the game. What would apply then? |

: but it depends if the player actually can play the game or the demo version only demonstrates how the game looks like. If the translator hasn't been informed about it, maybe it's safer to use something like "odtwórz".

in my opinion "play" means "play" and there's no catch here; if the context says "play the demo", why suspect that actually you can't play it? the context says nothing about downloading the demo - only about playing it

Then yes, you are right, it should to be either odtwórz or zagraj.
It would have to be Play since I'm not sure if this option downloads the file on a website or redirects the player to the game directly (In Playstation Network, for example). |
