Norwegian term

fasit

Norwegian to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software Automated client test machine
As in the following: "XML-font styrer visning av Parameter/Resultat/Fasit for webkomponenter. Man kan justere font-type og størrelse og forhåndsvises under."

og

"”SluttKriterietype” står som standard til ”Fortsett kun ved validering”. Dette betyr at testen fortsetter så fremt utfallet av kjøringen innfrir kriteriene satt i fasit."

The meaning is a key or standard as such, but my question pertains to the correct term for this in an edb context in English.

Discussion

doatley (asker) Oct 4, 2010:
The answers provided are sensible but not in the context. The sense is more of a key that is defined and used in a software testing environment. The word "fasit" means more a kind of scripted definition. Does anyone have any expertise in this field?

My L&H IT dictionary for Danish defines 'facit' as result or total.

The typical example of use of "fasit" is in the answer to a math question - "fasit" is then the correct answer to the question. When used in your context, it means that the all the desired criteria are met.

facet

Without looking up any dictionaries it seems to fit in the context. Especially since the person has used English/Norwegian terms (e.g. parameter, result, facet)

Web components (amongst other things) are also be referred to as facets.
