Geen context in mijn document, behalve dat het een clausule is in een contract voor een conferentieboeking in een hotel/congrescentrum. Gevonden: "Most hotel contracts [...] have attrition clauses that set forth the fees that een organization must pay if it fails to use the sleeping room block commitment it has previously booked." (International encyclopedia of hospitality management By Abraham Pizam on Googlebooks).

Attrition
The difference between the actual number of sleeping rooms picked-up (or food-and-beverage covers or revenue projections) and the number or formulas agreed to in the terms of the facility’s contract. Usually there is an allowable shortfall before damages are assessed.

Het heeft dus wat te maken met de "omzetgarantie" uit de Universele voorwaarden horeca: "Een schriftelijke verklaring van de klant dat terzake één of meer horecaovereenkomsten door het horecabedrijf minimaal een bepaald bedrag aan omzet zal worden gerealiseerd."
maar ja, de term weet ik ook niet.
