I assume there is a will. Otherwise you can put 'inherited' for bequeathed but if it is a gift (donacion) there will probably be a will.

A donation is more something you give to a charity. In inheritance law you would bequeath a gift rather than 'donate' it, which is bad in English.

You could also simply say 'securities' (i.e. stocks, shares, bonds etc.)

No, security by itself could be confused with 'guarantias'. If you want, put investments in securities.
