En el caso del maíz, por ejemplo, creo que podría emplearse este término. Se refiere a la extracción (generalmente manual) de las flores de una variedad de maíz para que polinicen los receptores de otra variedad. El proceso se conoce como entrecruzamiento en campo de semillas. En algunos casos se emplea a trabajadores temporales en la zona en la que vivo. No estoy segura si se puede aplicar a otros cultivos. deadheading
Could be "deadheading". A flowering plant's goal is to set seed. If you repeatedly deadhead - trim off the spent flowers - the plant goes into overdrive, putting out more and more flowers in an effort to reproduce, thus more seeds...

Although according to another source, deadheading flowers serves two purposes: it keeps plants looking attractive, and it stops seed production, so perhaps "harvesting" is a better choice in this context.

: we used this term when I worked in a cuecumber (spelling??) greenhouse. From the ocntext it is difficult to know which is correct, as both may be depending upon the end product / plant....

In the end the asker chose a very specific term relating to pollination/ cross-hybridization, I suppose she knows more about the context than the basic "seed brochure" originally posted as ref. I hope she's not mistaken...
