español term

mí destacado

español al inglés Jurídico/Patentes Derecho: contrato(s)
Can anyone help me with this phrase?
It appears several times in a contract in parenthesis after clauses or definitions. For example: Art. 1576.- Conocida claramente la intención de los contratantes, debe estarse a ella más que a lo literal de las palabras.” (mi destacado).

Discussion

Reed James Feb 3, 2011:
That should read "mi destacado" without the accent on the i.
philgoddard Feb 2, 2011:
I may be wrong, but it sounds like "my emphasis". Is the text in bold or italics?

/The emphasis/the underscoring is mine.)

One commonly reads text which has been underscored for emphasis by a commentator. "Mi destacado" means that the original text was not underlined, or underscored (or highlighted with a marker).

Instead, the underlining or underscoring was added by the commentator.
