pay points
Ik weet dit vaak in UK wordt gebruikt.
"Make sure your employer places you on the correct incremental point within your salary scale. Each year you move from one pay point to the next within the same salary grade (reflecting the automatic increase in salary accrued with each additional year you work for the NHS)."

"Sergeants with nine years or less experience as a constable prior to their promotion start out at pay point 0, which was £43,020 in 2010. With more than nine years experience, a sergeant's pay point is Level 1: £44,268 a year."

: "Fixed increments" would also work. Do you think periodieken is just a synonym for treden?

Thanks! Never heard about 'periodieken' or any English equivalent in this context.

: I agree that 'periodieken' and 'vaste treden' are synonyms. You could use 'fixed increments' for both IMO.

Also referred to as a 'fixed-step salary scale/schedule' (I submitted this answer yesterday but for some reason it wasn't there).

Thanks Kitty, yes 'incremental' points or steps would work well.

It seems to me 'periodieken' is something like seniority bonus or the amount of salary depending on the number of years of service, but I'm not sure about the precise English term.
