stem family
Without more context, this is only a suggestion. I am ussuming that "casa" here means "family" or "lineage". Your problem is how to work all these stems, branches, trunks and roots into a readable sentence! Research: Domestic Unit. The family remains the basic social unit, more important than the individual, despite the accelerated evolution of Andorran society. Most enterprises and business are organized through the family, distributing functions according to capacities and the level of study of each member. These family groups, following the institution of the familia troncal (stem family), incorporate a married pair and their children.

root (family)
Term used a lot in genealogy.
In somewhat isolation and comfort of the mountainous region Alavians, with fair ease, assimilated into the local Georgian peasantry by adapting local customs, religious practices, and changing their name yet aggain adding suffix dze/ძე (Georgian for son/descendent of) to the root family name Alavid and thus becoming Alavidze.
The Wales Phillips family is the founding root family of the Massachusetts Phillips and New Jersey families.
Many more like that.

thanks :D, although the challenge then is to word it so the branches don't grow directly out of the root :D

(main) ancestral estate
My feeling is that this relates to "bienes troncales", defined by the RAE as:
1. m. pl. Der. Los patrimoniales que, muerto el poseedor sin posteridad, en vez de pasar al heredero regular, vuelven, por ministerio de la ley, a la línea, tronco o raíz de donde vinieron.
Cheers
