I'm awfully tempted to just "slave translate" it, since an explanation follows...this is obviously where what you need to protect is taller than the average human...culture is fine in reference to plant life...

well Charles that's a darn good point too, it's a bit out of my ballpark, but by using overhead you may be painting yourself into a corner...what about for example a banana tree, where leaves, branches, fruit, etc. are both above and below eye-level...or a cherry tree where the trunk is treated up to a certain level (my Czech father-in-law applies lime to tree trunks as a way of blocking passage of certain bugs)... but that's why I would use the generic "spatial", backed up by explanation. (btw, if this refers to trees, "plantation" also seems an acceptable alternative to culture)

I don't like it much either actually, maybe "area", like "area cleaning"...

where "prostor"/priestor (plošná miera) = area or territory, surface, field
XY x XY = plocha= priestor

and where "kultura"/ plodina = crop, culture, plantation, plant(s)
perhaps as "area bombing" = prostorove bombardovani
area spraying = priestorove postrekovanie

"prostorové kultury" is common expression for orchards and vineyards,
(maybe even plantations as Charles mentioned, desciption of his father-in-law activities in the garden is OK)
