scaffolding or bracing (or shoring up) (of damaged buildings)

Basically offering a couple other alternatives in line with Gilla.
I found the coaatmca.com link, too, and if I was walking by on the street talking with someone , I would call the things in the pictures scaffolds or braces in everyday plain speak. May not be 100% on word but I think people would understand what you're talking about.
