Dutch term

overkoepelende website

Non-PRO Dutch to English Other Marketing / Market Research
zin: the company is divided into two main areas, Europe and Asia. The different websites should all be placed under one of these two websites. ?Overarching these websites is the ....com website?

the overarching website/ umbrella website doesn't sound quite well, any suggestions?

Discussion

Fabriziat (asker) Sep 2, 2011:
I'm afraid I don't have the Dutch sentence, my supervisor wrote it in English straightaway but I think we should come up with something better than "overarching" thanks for the suggestions so far!
writeaway Sep 2, 2011:
please post the full sentence in Dutch it's hard to see what the actual context is with so much confusing English
Willem Wunderink Sep 2, 2011:
master or corporate - depending on context From a technical point of view Alexander's suggestion for 'master website' is correct. In a more commercial context I would say that 'corporate website' is the most common expression that needs no further explanation.
So, Fabriziat, for you to decide what's most appropriate here! :-)

Or 'overall corporate website' ....
Peer comment(s):

agree Tina Vonhof (X) : 'Overall' is appropriate here because it comprises several 'sub-websites'.

Thank you Tina, that was my reason for adding it in my note. But then again, is this not always the case with corporate websites?
