Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Neil Ashby

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Transmission of the process of brand architecture to the pharmaceutical industry

In the first step, the model of Aaker (1996) has to be adjusted for the pharmaceutical industry.
While the corporate brand which defines the corporation behind the product or service offering is fully consistent with the logic of Aaker (1996), most of the other brands have to be
added into this logic. *****A range brand as “…a brand that ranges over several product classes”****** (Aaker, 1996: 242) for example, can be a company brand which belongs to the corporation, like Sandoz from Novartis or even pharmacy chains and wholesalers as part of a corporation.
Product line brands as “…associated with the organization’s specific products” (Aaker, 1996: 243) can be therapy area-specific brands which cover the whole product portfolio of a company within a specific therapy area like Henning, which is the umbrella of thyroids drugs of sanofi aventis. Subbrands are basic product brands which refine product line brands such as Viani mite from GlaxoSmithKline, Aspirin Plus C from Bayer or L-Thyroxin Henning from sanofi aventis. Branded features and services delineate the brand (Aaker, 1996). Examples would be events as the diabetes day from NovoNordisk, Solostar insulin pen from sanofi
aventis and the Viani discus from GlaxoSmithKline as medical devices. These features can have a significant effect on the brand perception and should be considered in a pharmaceutical brand hierarchy.

Range Branding
Line branding is restrictive since it restricts the brands extension intonearby territories of complementary products. ***Range branding** is not restrictive, where the brand can move beyond product complementarities. Products however, emanate out of some common competence or expertise. All the products share a common promise, which stems from the firm’s or range brand’s area of competence.

umbrella segment brand (name)

Your document explains exactly what a "marca de gama" is. A very close equivalent would be the UK term "umbrella segment".

An ***umbrella segment*** of an invented name is a section of invented name that is used in more than one medicinal name to create a brand or range of products.
Where the new product contains the same active as the original product, packs may be acceptable where the name is differentiated by a suitable descriptor indicative of the new therapeutic area (e.g. Bloggofen Cold and Flu Capsules and Bloggofen Headache Capsules).

An umbrella segment (also known as root name) of an invented name is a section of invented name that is used for more than one name to create a brand or range of related products

[Good pack design] helps differentiate medicines within the same range (e.g. ***umbrella brands***) to minimise the risk of confusion. ... This is especially important where a range of medicines within the same ***umbrella brand*** include different active substance(s).
