DB-9 (asker) Nov 24, 2011:
Hi!
Thanks for your comments. Yes, the document is from Argentina.
Christine Walsh Nov 23, 2011:
Is this from Argentina? Sounds like it.
Christine Walsh Nov 23, 2011:
I've also been a teacher for many years, and have always used the name 'remedial' for the type of teaching Helena describes
Helena Chavarria Nov 23, 2011:
In Spain "special education" refers to children who want to learn but who find it impossible to keep up with the pace of normal classes. It has nothing to do with reformatory teaching. If we're talking about Spain, the bullies, whose level of intelligence is usually the same as that of everyone else, attend normal classes.

Thanks. It's important that you tell us what you've done - otherwise it looks like you've just posted the problem for us to solve.
DB-9 (asker) Nov 23, 2011:
Hi, I have done a bit of internet research and come up with 'corrective pedagogy' but I'm not 100% sure that this is correct..
philgoddard Nov 23, 2011:
Asker What research have you done? What do you think it might be?

therapeutic pedagogy

I found two sites in which synonyms are given. One calls it "reeducacion" and the other "terapeutica". This is how I came up with therapeutic. Then, a search will show that Therapeutic Pedagogy is a field as well.
Example sentence:

Pedagogía Enmendativa o Reeducación

una pedagogia terapéutica o enmendativa

Well I went from amend > correct > rectify > find a remedy, which led me to remedial teaching. Although the word "pedagogy" exists in English, it's more common to refer to it as "teaching".
