I don't understand your reply! Are you trying to tell me that "period of prescription" (yr answer) is valid! Personally, "prescription" makes little sense to me! //That may well be, but why not a simpler rendering, i.e. statute-barred? Thank you.

This exists so that people whose guilt cannot be proven don't have to spend a long time in jail (though in Spain and Italy it seems to be used by corrupt characters to stall proceedings to avoid judgement...). "No es de lesa humanidad" means it isn't serious crime (for which the concept of prescription does not apply).
