Spanish term

AGE

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) carotid stent-angioplasty
Here's the only time this term occurs in the document:

Basados en una idea original de J.C. Parodi, se valen de las conexiones del polígono de Willis y la presión retrógrada generada al ocluir la ACC y la AGE.

The ACC is the common carotid artery in English (CCA), but I can't figure out AGE. My impression is that perhaps it's a typo for Arteria Carótida Externa (ACE), but that's just a guess.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who used their time to answer. It turns out that the original document is a .pdf and when the format was changed to OCR the letters were changed. The original says ACE (ECA in English) not AGE. I truly appreciate everyone's efforts on the matter.

Mistery solved Look what I found with your sentence:

http://www.elsevier.es/sites/default/files/elsevier/pdf/294/...
Basados en una idea original de J.C. Parodi [52],
se valen de las conexiones del polígono de Willis y la
presión retrógrada generada al ocluir la CC y la CE.

So it is definitely a typo.
Roxanna Delgado Apr 5, 2012:
I think it is a typo Although AGE might as well stand for "arteria gastroepiploica", being that your text has to do with the carotid artery and the brain, I really don't see the connection. I think you are correct in thinking that it is a typo for ACE.
