German term

zitierfähig veröffentlicht

German to English Science Science (general) publications
This is part of a call for papers by a research institute:

What does "zitierfähig" mean in this context?

Many thanks.

Discussion

philgoddard Jun 19, 2012:
Publish means make public!
Kate Collyer Jun 18, 2012:
@ phil Is it really a tautology? Longwindedly, it means "published in such a manner that it can be quoted/cited and will be publicly available" i.e. not just in an internal, self-published compendium
philgoddard Jun 18, 2012:
"veröffentlicht und öffentlich zugänglich gemacht" is a tautology. You could just translate the whole thing as "published".

Zitierfähigkeit und Zitierwürdigkeit von Quellen

„Zitierfähig” means the authors/contributors can rest assured that the publication in which their article appears will be freely accessible, thus allowing other researchers, peers etc to quote them.
